7th Grade Dance

Last Friday, Brooke attended her first dance of the year at East Ridge. She looked so adorable and said the night was a blast! I know she's already counting down the days for the next dance!

Tennessee By Boat

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Tennessee IS beautiful! Whenever we're out on the boat the beauty of our surroundings really does take my breath away. The rolling green hills, the beautiful water and the tall trees, well, it's perfect and while I know my home grown pictures don't do it the justice it deserves, if you can even grasp an ounce of the natural beauty we're spoiled by, than that is good enough for me!

KIDS.WOOT.COM

I am addicted to a "One deal a day site" called Woot.com. As the name suggests they sell only one item a day.

And today they have unleashed their newest addition:

KIDS.WOOT.COM!

For all of my fellow parents out there, you will want to follow this site. They have amazing deals.

If they start selling strollers... Well, I'll be snookered! LOL

Diana's First Ballet Lesson- Part II

The Pre-Ballet class is a small one, only 5 or so students which I think made Diana all the more comfortable. I wasn't able to stay and watch the entire class (they asked us to leave so in a few weeks they can surprise us with the girls' progress) but from what little I saw Diana was totally in her element!

She loves her new teacher and said the class was very fun!

Diana's First Ballet Lesson- Part I

Diana has been counting down this day for almost a year!

At ten past four she excitedly donned her new ballet garb: White leotard, white ruffle socks and new Bloch ballet shoes. She sat still while I put her hair in the required bun (No easy feat mind you) and she was ready!

We arrived early which was just fine with Ms. Di and she sat and watched an older group of kids dance while we waited for her class to begin.

More Lake Pictures

Oh what a beautiful Morning,

Oh what a beautiful day!

The weather finally cleared up enough to allow us an entire day on the lake. The water was crystal clear and the steady breeze coming off the mountains did a great job of keeping us cool even though the temperatures soared into the low 90's.

I packed some fresh fruit and Ed barbequed up some hot dogs and the kids spent the day tubing, water skiing and swimming! We finally headed home around 7:30 just in time to scrounge up a late dinner.

I don't know whether it's the boat, the water or the sheer beauty of our surroundings, but there is nothing more enjoyable for me than spending time with my family in the water. It's definitely my happy place. :)

Brooke was trying to take a "good" picture of me but Ed decided that dunking me quite unceremoniously would make a better picture.

FINALLY HOME!!!

Waiting for Brooke

It's so nice to have Brooke home again though getting her home seemed almost impossible last Friday.
It's about an hour and 20 minute drive to the Knoxville airport so Ed and I left in plenty of time to pick her up, little did we know that her flight would be delayed over 6 hours. She was originally scheduled to come in around 6:40pm but her flight didn't actually arrive in Knoxville until 12:20am! I've never been happier to see anyone step off a plane in my life!

I should also give some credit to the folks at Delta who handle the "unaccompanied minors" department, they did a GREAT job! They made sure Brooke got dinner and let her and the other minors from her flight hang out in a "VIP" room where they watched movies, played games and had lots of snacks! Brooke said she had a great time waiting for her flight!
